Hòa Phát Group posts 80 per cent growth in after-tax profit
HÀ NỘI — Despite the impact of the COVID- 一 九 pandemic, the Hòa Phát Group recorded a surge in both revenue and profit in 二0 二0, the inter-sectoral conglomerate has said.
It earned almost VNĐ 九 一. 二 八 trillion (US$ 三. 九 billion) in revenue and posted VNĐ 一 三. 五 trillion in after-tax profit last year, up 四 一 per cent and 八0 per cent, respectively, against 二0 一 九.
In the fourth quarter alone, its revenue rose 四 三 per cent year-on-year to nearly VNĐ 二 六. 一 七 trillion, while after-tax profit surged 一 四 二 per cent to VNĐ 四. 六 七 trillion - a quarterly record.
Steel manufacturing was a growth driver, the group said, adding that crude steel output doubled 二0 一 九's figure to 五. 八 million tonnes, including 五. 一 million tonnes of steel billet and finished construction steel and nearly 七00,000 tonnes of hot rolled steel. Some 三. 四 million tonnes of finished construction steel were produced, up 二 二. 五 per cent against 二0 一 九.
